About Daily Self-Care

Daily Self-Care addresses health and wellness through a new model. Our unique approach assesses needs onsite alongside the employees. This integration of Daily Self-Care and corporate team members engages the workplace community, creating a more relevant program. Success is secured through the application of our three tenets: mindful movement, conscious consumption, and thought.

Mindful Movement: Being mindful of how you move through space. The way you sit, stand, walk, sleep, and even breathe. An engaged awareness of movement only achieved through thought.

Conscious Consumption: Being conscious of not only what you consume, but how and why. It goes beyond food and drink. A more focused appreciation earned through thought.

Thought: Simply put, without thought, there is no Daily Self-Care.

“There is where thought comes in, where you begin to connect to what it is you are doing and why. To begin a dialogue with yourself and others as to why. Then, from that thought, from that connection, you will truly engage and get the very most out of that very experience in that moment. Your movement will become mindful. Your consumption will become conscious. It will never happen automatically and that is a good thing. You want to be present and aware as life is too amazing to be on autopilot!”

-Gus E. Turner, founder of Daily Self-Care

About Gus Turner

While visiting the campus of a large tech company in San Francisco, Gus Turner, DSC founder, was shocked to discover that although numerous health and wellness services were offered, no one was responsible for bringing it all together to maximize the benefit for both employee and employer. This discovery was how Daily Self-Care was conceived.

With over 18 years of experience in health, wellness, and research at the CDC, University of Illinois, and Equinox, Gus Turner brings the skill set needed to affect change and help one discover their true health potential. This skill set is strengthened by years overseas and a heightened cultural sensitivity and adaptability not commonly found in the health and wellness industry that’s known for its generic approach.

This keen awareness allows for an integrated approach when tailoring an onsite program. He sees the unseen, anticipates what is needed, but never before truly understanding his surroundings. Adding strength to this experience, Gus’s insatiable thirst for knowledge did not stop when he obtained his Master in Public Health. Holding certifications in personal training, survey research methodology, and worksite wellness, his approach to health and wellness is unique and the reason he refers to himself as a health strategist.

As a health strategist, he looks at all aspects of the individual as is needed to reach their true health potential. This holistic integrated approach is achieved by honoring the three tenets of Daily Self-Care: mindful movement, conscious consumption, and thought.

This “in house” approach provides individual engagement and experience options in a corporate setting while respecting client ROI/VOI. Every Daily Self-Care program, regardless of client size, employs the three tenets of the Daily Self-Care program: Movement, Conscious Consumption, and Thought.
